I'm Salem Oglah Al Zalabeyh
I am the owner of Wadi Rum Xperience. I was born in the Wadi Rum desert. I spent my years chasing flocks of sheep, herding camels, and climbing to the highest and steepest mountains in Jordan using the skills I learned from my father, which were passed down for seventeen generations.
My Bedouin Lifestyle
The Bedouin life is centered around hospitality and exchange of ideas which is why I love scrambling, hiking, camel trekking, and camping while showing you the authentic Bedouin hospitality. This is why I am locally recognized as a professional, fun, creative exhibitor of Bedouin skills and lifestyle.
The Al Zalabeyh tribe
I am part of the “Al Zalabeyh” tribe which means “sweet things” and we are a tribe of approximately 2500 people, where five percent of the people still live in the desert, including my father and mother.
My passion & Inspiration
I have worked in desert tourism since 2004 as a guide, hiker, scrambler, camper and cook. I enjoy and find it exhilarating to wake up under the open sky, and breathe in the fresh desert air to recharge my spirit.

We operate within the protected area of the Wadi Rum Desert, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our main focus is to have every guest enjoy visiting the vast and breathtaking Wadi Rum desert while creating a lifetime of memories.
We offer Bivouac camping, with many different options and locations that we would hike to & enjoy a beautiful evening under the famous Wadi Rum star filled sky.
We take pride in our heritage going back 17 generations.
We have survived, thrived, and maintained a sustainable life through the richness of our culture & the simplicity of our life. Your stay would entail a variety of outdoor, unique options that allow you to immerse in Bedouin life and culture.
